I have started on the 2nd doll, Banshee, signifying Wrath. Banshee’s gender is rather amorphous in my head. This head took less time than the first since I already had the pattern. I stuck the skull on with fabric glue.
I finished Harlot, although I may redo her hair if it bugs me too much. As you can see, her outfit does not cover her chest except for straps. She also has no arms. I believe I mentioned it but its because she symbolizes Envy, her lack of arms signifies her inability to grasp both reality and what she desires.
I glued the hair with fabric glue, begun to wonder if I should have padded under it to give it more body.
And if I cut it too short.
Fabric glue is really noxious. The cut on my finger would throb any time it got near the stuff.
Anyway I’ve begun to sew her dress. Its patchwork with the same black thread, however I have realized that this thread has been rubbing dye onto the material of her body. This is most distressing as I dont believe I can get it out. I will have to come up with a different material for the ‘straps’ around her torso.
The materials for her dress are different pieces of several different fabrics. From Ties to CareBears fabric (the pink ones XD) to old Xmas socks.
Took me a few tries to get the shape I wanted. And I personally think the legs are too close together, I may unstitch and redo that part…. although I’d have to do it before putting the head on…Damn and I just realized I’ve already put the pellets in…
In stuffing them I am using a mix of pellets and standard plushie flush. The pellets are to give them a bit more weight, allowing them to sit up instead of flop over.
Thats the hope anyway.
This is the design for Harlot, the LittleDead of Ariana, very loosely based on the idea of Envy.
I tried to symbolize this by sewing over her eyes, as she is blind to reality, but giving her a third eye in her chest, showing her constant desire for more.
She has no arms, unlike some of the LittleDeads, because she is so wrapped up in her desires she cannot grasp reality.
Littledeads have four arms generally speaking. As you can see, hers are being used as bindings across her chest both above and below her third eye.
I decided to go with Reds and pinks for Harlot, and her base tone is a light yellow.
So as my home side project I’ve been working on doll designs.
For two reasons mainly, I’ve been wanting to do my own dolls for three years, and I have found a project that mixes all of my talents together.tutuapp pokemon go pc
What it comes down to is a series of 7 plush dolls, each based off a different idea and character. They each have a house and all live in the same environment, which is a kind of creepy twilight zone.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get a space to present the full piece in, its a HUGE installation. My preliminary sketches will be up later this week as well as pictures of the doll designs.
The image attached is a vector image I created based on the characters heads. I have a 7th but I have yet to decide on the design.
